Don't miss the pure electricity of this local production of the Broadway smash hit Billy Elliot!
The ultimate tale of the underdog with a good measure of electrifying song and dance thrown in, Billy Elliot the Musical comes to Anchorage thanks to the Anchorage Concert Association. This original Broadway blockbuster won an astounding 10 Tony Awards in 2009 and has delighted fans and critics from all over the world alike with its Elton John-penned score, inspirational message and good-natured humour.
The story follows the titular Billy, a young boy growing up in a small English miner's town. Prospects and open minds are slim in this rural setting, so when Billy bucks the odds and trades his boxing gloves for a pair of ballet pumps (and turns out to have a gift for ballet), not everyone is pleased... With the help of the local dance teacher and a friend or two, Billy fights for his dancing dream, changing minds and hearts in the process.
